Photo Essay of Stony Brook University campus entrance modification

In May 2005, the university began a major realignment of the main campus entrance. The Conservancy was concerned at the removal of many mature trees to accommodate the roadway. The forested perimeter of the campus forms part of the Stony Brook Greenbelt and the Conservancy suggests that replanting should be done with indigenous plants and trees wherever possible.
