Greenbelt Trail
Greenbelt
The Stony Brook Greenbelt is a proposed 5-mile, publicly accessible, contiguous domain of forests, memorial preserves, open lands, farmland and seashore. The Stony Brook Environmental Conservancy supports its creation and its permanent protection under NY State Law. This preserved land would continue to be held by the various landowners, but would be made available for non-extractive, passive recreational and educational use by the community. The Greenbelt already exists; most of the land is already accessible to the public (with the exception of Flowerfield and the farmland) for legitimate purposes.
